Neffiès

Neffiès (800 inhabitants) dates back to Pehistoric times and offers some Middle Age remains.
The village is located on the edge of the " Parc Naturel régional du Haut-Languedoc " (protected area) which offers many possibilities for long walks and a wide choice of sports and leisure.

Wine and gastronomy
The quality of Neffiès wineyards is quite undisputed. You can enjoy a wine tasting at the Cooperative as well as in some private caves : Domaine Saint-Alban, Astruc Frères, etc.
Nearby you will also discover some quality wineyards, like in Gabian ( Domaine de Canteperdrix ) , Montesquieu, Cabrière, Caux, Pézenas, etc.

In the village, the bakery offers delicious “croissants” and we can gladly book a table in one of the best restaurant in the surrounding area, Les Goutailles.  

Shops
A small supermarket, a newspaper and tobacco shop, a coffee shop/ bar and a hairdresser.

Social life in Neffies
Although small, the village offers lots of events and festivities, thanks to the local associations. You can always take part at one of them.

Craft and art
You can visit the village’s ateliers and discover some of our talents or take part yourself at a class session of decorative painting at the Atelier sur la place ( http://www.lateliersurlaplace.com ).

The area
The well known Lake Salagou and its water activities are nearby as are the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean Sea.

Within an hour you can reach and admire the beautiful village of Saint-Guilhem-Le-Désert, the historic cities of Lodève, Pézenas and Béziers or the famous Canal du Midi. Montpellier, the regional capital, is quite near and offers you its proper atmosphere wether you are shopping, sightseeing or plunging into the night life.
You can also make a tour to Spain : Pyrenees, Cataluńa can be reached in 1 ½ hour drive and Barcelona in 2 ½ hours.
